RESEARCH LABORATORY OF FLAME PROCESSES OF SPRAYING COATINGSMain direction of the research work of the laboratory: is the development of theoretical and technological bases to form coatings using flame jets of various compositions. Results of scientific investigations are a basis of developing technological processes of a restoration strengthening for a wide range of parts. More than 10 specialized bays of flame coatings spraying for various purposes are made in repair enterprises of Belarus. The further expansion of the powder production in-cluding materials for a "cold" spraying, a modernization of apparatus and technologies of flame spraying contributes to introduction of processes in industry. The laboratory has developed a set of a technological equipment for specialized bays of flame spraying includ-ing the following: unit of jet-abrasive treatment; unit for spraying of coatings from powder and wire materials, ensuring a possibility of a restoration and a strengthening of machines shafts, worn necks of camshafts and crank-shafts of internal combustion engines (ICE) and other parts of friction units of machines and mechanisms. |
To restore cams of ICE camshafts and valves there is made a special hard-facing torch and technologies of gas powder hard facing of self-fluxing alloys on the base of Ni and Co. A modulus to spray antifrictional coatings from powders of polymer and compositions made thereof to the apparatus of flame spraying is developed. Higher wear resistance and antifrictional properties as compared with cast polymer parts characterize such coatings.
"High technologies" of a high velocity flame spraying of cord high quality coatings with additional dynamic and heat effect on particles during spraying are originated. This enabled to use for spraying composite multicomponent powders with solid phase additives, being produced using SHS method, and powders on the base of polymers with fillers enabling to control a change of mechanical, electrical, heat-physical and other properties of coatings.

The possibility to produce some unique physical-mechanical and chemical properties such as high hardness, strength and corrosive resistance cause the high world interest to spraying coatings from amorphous materials. The technology and apparatus to spray coatings, which had been developed in the laboratory, were delivered according to contracts to Canada, Israel and Russia.
