DEPARTMENT OF MACHINE BUILDING MATERIALS
The main direction of research works of the
department is the theory and practice of production of items and semifinished items for mechanical
engineering and special applications by powder metallurgy methods and technologies such as:
treatment by pressure, castingseepage, hot casting of thermoplastic mass and etc.
Main directions of fundamental investigations:
- mechanics of structurally heterogeneous medium with a irreversible compressibility;
- physical and chemical nature of a plastic deformation of porous materials;
- kinetics of physical and chemical processes of friction and wear;
- pseudocrystalline materials being obtained in a nanodimensional range;
- kinetics of formation of the structure and properties of nanostructural ceramics.
The department solves a wide range of
problems of development and perfection of powder materials and composites on the base of
metallic and non-metallic powders, diamond powders and super hard materials; effective
technologies of production thereof structural, antifrictional, frictional, electrical
engineering, magnetic, wear resisting parts of machines and devices, as well as diamond tools.
