The most significant scientific and practical achievements of the InstituteSince 1972 the belorussian school of scientists in the field of the powder metallurgy has given more than 20 doctors of sciences and 120 candidates of sciences including 2 academicians and 1 corresponding member of NAS of Belarus, there was created a modern base of training of scientific personnel of high qualification. Fundamental and research investigations and practical designs being executed during this time are the base of numerous monographs, papers and manuals. Since 1972 there were published more than 30 monographs, more than 2000 papers, there were obtained 1225 USSR author certificates and 53 patents of the Republic of Belarus. The theory of porous body plastic deformation is developed and on the base of this theory effective methods of cold stamping and hot deformation of powder blanks, technological processes of different purpose parts manufacturing from powders of non-ferrous metals and low-alloy steel are elaborated. Particularities and laws of hot pressing of oxides of aluminium, zirconium, and their different compositions are investigated. Processes of compacting of mono- and multicomponent oxide systems at simultaneous influence of high pressures and temperatures are described. The results of investigations are used for manufacturing of milled bodies; implants and special technique articles are used. Theoretic bases of numeral calculation of multicomponent diffusion processes in heterogeneous sintered steels of Fe-Cr-C, Fe-Ni-C, Fe-Cr-Ni-C composition and alloys of Fe-Cr, Fe-Ni composition are developed. The methods are used for development of technological processes of strengthening of tool and constructional sintered alloy steels. Theoretical and practical bases of structure and properties of porous permeable powder, fiber, grid and sell materials regulation are developed. They were the base of the development and industrial manufacturing in Belarus of a large class of permeable materials used in different branches of national economy as filters, medical implants, catalysts, sound reducers, fire barriers. The results of investigations of the institute employees in this field were awarded the USSR Soviet Ministers Bonus in 1987. A complex of technological processes of producing filtering materials with an asymmetrical structure of pores on the base of powders of bronze, of corrosion-resistant steel, titanium, nickel and other materials is developed. The processes are introduced into production on the PM Plant in Molodechno, in the Institute for manufacturing of elements and equipment of systems for a preliminary and fine cleaning, of sterilization of liquid and gaseous media including multiphase ones. Theoretical and practical bases of technological processes of gas-thermal spraying of large range protective coatings of different purpose - strengthening, corrosion- and wear resistant, heat-protective, tribotechnical on parts of technological equipment, transport machines and mechanisms, aero- and space technique and special technique are developed. A model of heating and movement of particles in gasthermal jet, which gives a possibility to investigate the laws of behaviour of sprayed surface, its state, to regulate and to obtain optimal properties of coatings is developed. More than 50 production areas are created in the republic of Belarus. The developments in this field are awarded the State Bonus of the Republic of Belarus in 2001. Theoretical and practical bases of deposition of thin film coatings in vacuum by the method of chemical and physical evaporation and condensation are developed. They are the base for development of technological processes of deposition of strengthening and protective and decorative coatings on the base of TiN on cutting tools, and dentures. The last development was awarded the State Bonus of BSSR in 1986. There is developed a new class of friction powder materials on the base of iron and powder being obtained by treatment of steel SX-15 material without lead and asbestos with a reduced content of non-ferrous metals for operation in car, tractor, and road-building technique in oil and in conditions of dry friction with increased tribotechnical characteristics. An industrial technology of the production of commutator blanks of DC electric machines by the method of a cold plastic deformation of a sintered copper blank, which gives a possibility to bring up the coefficient of copper utilization to 0,96 -0,98, make the level of product properties similar to the level of assembled blank from profile rolled metal and increase the process productivity. This work is awarded the Grand Prize of European Association of Powder Metallurgy and the technology was sold under licence to "Zack und Kisselbach GmbH" (Germany). Biomechanical concepts, principles of design, technological processes are developed and the manufacturing of medical implants and spare parts to them as follows: orthopaedic, ophthalmologic, oncologic and others, is organized. Scientific bases of manufacturing of functional gradient materials, materials with selective optical properties and nano-size structure are developed. The results of investigations are used for production of electrotechnical (insulators, magnets, elements of non-linear optics) and construction ceramics materials. There are developed the scientific bases and it is organized industrial manufacturing of a large class of tools (ring drills, disks, heads, cutters, grinding powders and pasts) on the base of superhard materials (cubic nitride of bore , natural and synthetic diamonds) for treatment of stones, building materials, glass and road coatings. There were developed the theoretic bases of the method of contact potential difference for tribological processes of deformation, corrosion and destruction of electro -conductive materials. The method gives a possibility to evaluate defects of semiconductors, metals, powder materials, loaded elements of transport systems and aircraft. There were developed theoretic bases of methods of ultrasonic and resistometric non-destructive control of the quality powder metallurgy products. These methods give a possibility to evaluate and investigate the processes of macrodefects formation under pressing, sintering and plastic deformation of powder materials. There were developed the bases of intensification of heat and mass transfer processes in powder capillary structures and of increase of working characteristics low temperature heat tubes what is the base of method of calculation and optimization of powder capillary structures and heat tubes. Serial production of standard heat tubes with a powder capillary structure and of heat sinks of different power on their base to cool commutation systems of electric power station was organized with the participation of the Institute specialists on the PM Plant in Molodechno, for the first time in the USSR. There are developed new biocompatible and bioactive powder materials (porous and composite), coatings, technologies of their production and application, as well as design of dental, orthopaedic, cardiological, ophthalmologic and other chirurgerical implants. It is organized their production. |
