OPHTHALMOLOGIC COMPOSITE CERAMIC IMPLANTS

Ophthalmologic composite ceramic implants

Composition of the ophthalmologic composite ceramic implants: Zirconium-alumina ceramics, impregnated with nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite.

Main characteristics of the ophthalmologic composite ceramic implants:

  • Size of pores – 100…300 mkm;
  • Porosity – 85…95 %;
  • Density – 0,10…0,45 g/cm3;
  • Compression strength – 0,1…1,0 MPa;
  • Content of hydroxyapatite – 0…12 weight %;
  • Material is biologically compatible with tissues of organism.

Kind and characteristics of ophthalmologic composite ceramic implants:

  • type 1 – weight 0,34…1,25 g, diameter 14,5+/-1,5 mm;
  • type 2 – weight 0,47…1,57 g, diameter 17,0+/-1,0 mm;
  • type 3 – weight 0,70…1,97 g, diameter 19,0+/-1,0 mm;

The use of ophthalmologic implants from highly porous composite ceramic material enables to achieve a reliable cosmetic effect, and ensures the movement of artificial eye close to natural movements of eyeball over a long period of time.

An output mastery of the ophthalmologic composite ceramic implants : There is a registration certificate for their application in medical practice; an output of developed products is mastered at the pilot plant, the yield is 500 pieces per year; supply for patient care institutions of the Ministry of Health.
