1972 - Foundation of the Powder Metallurgy Institute on the base of a Problem Laboratory of the Byelorussian Polytechnical Institute (The Decree of the BSSR Soviet of Ministers № 272 dated 07. 09. 72)

1973 - Organization and carrying out of the First USSR International Specialized Exhibition "Powder Metallurgy" in Minsk, taking place since that time each 4 years.

1977 - Completion of construction of the administrative-laboratory building and the building of the pilot PMRI plant.

1977 - Organization and holding the first international scientific and technical conference in Minsk within the framework of the second international specialized exhibition "Powder Metallurgy".

1977 - Issue of the first number of a scientific works collection "Powder Metallurgy" being issued annually till now.

1978 - Foundation of a Special design-technological bureau in the Powder Metallurgy Institute (the Decree of the BSSR Soviet of Ministers №362 dated 10.05.78.). Expansion of the pilot plant.

1978 - Awarding Sheleg V.K. and Smyrnova T.A. the bonus of the youth organization of Belarus for the investigation and application of new heat exchange apparatus with capillary structures in industry.

1979 - Awarding Grebnev N.P., Volchek A.I., Zvonarev E.V., Doroshkevich E.A., Ponamariov L.A., the P.G. Sobolevskij bonus for the development of a technological process of parts production by powder metallurgy methods and their application in industry.

1980 - Foundation of the Byelorussian Republican Powder Metallurgy Scientific Industrial Association (BR PMScIA) on the base of PM Institute (head organization) under the Soviet of Ministers of BSSR and decision to build the Powder Metallurgy Plant in Molodechno (the Decree of the Soviet of Ministers of BSSR №52 dated 13.02.80) and Foundation of the Special "New Materials" faculty in the Byelorussian Polytechnical Institute.

1980 - Awarding Roman O.V., Vitiaz P.A., Gorobtsov V.A., Boiko Iu.V., Genkin V.A., Sheleg V.K., Shelegov V.I., Kaptsevich V.M., Kogatko V.I. the State bonus of BSSR in the field of science and technique for the development and application of new porous materials and products from metal powders.

1980 - Awarding BR PM Sc IA and the PM Institute the "Gold Mercury" bonus for the development of international cooperation.

1981 - Foundation of the Specialized Technological Design Department on automatization and mechanization of powder metallurgy processes with the pilot plant being affiliated to BR PM Sc IA (the Decree of the Soviet Ministers of BSSR № 69 dated 11.03.81).

1981 - Beginning of the construction of the Powder Metallurgy Plant in Molodechno.

1984 - Commissioning of the first technological line to produce parts by powder metallurgy methods on the Powder Metallurgy Plant in Molodechno with participation of the PM Institute personnel.

1993 - Foundation of the Impulse Processes Research Institute on the base of the PM Institute (the Decree of the Soviet of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus №807 dated 30.11.93).

1996 - Reorganization of the BR PM Sc IA in the Byelarussian State Scientific Industrial Powder Metallurgy Concern (BS ScI PMC) (the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus № 15 dated 04.03.9).

1997 - Awarding the BS ScI PMC and the PM Institute the Grand -Prix of the European Powder Metallurgy Association for the development of the technology and the mastering of billets production for electric machines' commutators.

1997 - Awarding Beliavin K.E., Masiuk V.V., Mynko D.V., Sheleg V.K. the bonus of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the monograph "A Theory and Practice of Electric Impulse sintering of Porous Powder Materials".

2000 - The 40-th anniversary of the powder metallurgy in the Republic of Belarus

2001 - Awarding Ilyuschenko A.Ph., Ivashko V.S., Manoilo E.D. the State bonus of the Republic of Belarus in the field of science and technique for a series of works in the field of theory, technology and practice of barrier powder coatings.

2002 - Inclusion of the Powder Metallurgy Institute being affiliated to the BS ScI PMC in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus №7 dated 05. 03. 02). The 30-th anniversary of the PM Institute.

2006 - Reorganization of the Powder Metallurgy Institute by introducing the Research Design Technological Institute of Welding and Barrier Coatings and the Research Institute of Impulse Processes in its structure as isolated self-supporting subdivisions (the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus № 51 dated 17.01.06).
